Mary was the owner of a tavern in a small village in Camelot.
Biography
Merlin and Arthur visited Mary's tavern after a long day of hunting. Mary took their orders and was pleasant and friendly to them (particularly to Merlin, who she complimented as handsome). Soon afterward, however, local thugs Dagr and Ebor entered the tavern and demanded a share of Mary's profits. Mary tossed Dagr a bag of coins, but he demanded more money and threatened her with a knife.
At this point, Arthur stepped in to defend Mary and Merlin mouthed off at Dagr, prompting him to call in the rest of his men. Gwaine came to Merlin and Arthur's defense, and the tavern soon descended into a brawl. As Arthur, Gwaine, and Merlin fought Dagr's men, Mary tried to save her merchandise and later assisted Merlin in knocking out one of the thugs.
After the fight was over, Dagr was put in the stocks and Arthur instructed Mary to send word to Camelot if he ever troubled her again, promising that soldiers would be there within the day. Mary was ecstatic to discover that the Prince of Camelot had been in her tavern and enthusiastically pelted Dagr with rotten fruit alongside the rest of her patrons (Gwaine).
