The Vates were powerful Seers of Druid descent. Their power of prophecy was said to be unrivalled, even by a High Priestess.

History

While enroute to Ismere, Merlin encountered a Vates called Lochru who had been mortally wounded in an attack on his village. Lochru used his final moments to warn Merlin about Arthur's bane and showed him a vision of the Battle of Camlann (Arthur's Bane).
